A broken toe?

I hurt my toe and I went to my doctor. She sent me to to the hospital for a specialist. A specialist said that everything is fine with my toe (well, a nail will eventually fall off). What to do if I suspect that my toe is not all right? I mean, can I ask for a roentgen? Would it be covered by health insurance or I would need to pay it by myself? I off course don't want to pay, but I want my toe scanned.
